Connecting the systems that control order creation, pricing, invoicing, and inventory is just as important as the physical layout.

  • The "raw material" in this manufacturing process is bales of z-fold. Tracking them in your warehouse and as they are converted into finished goods and scrap is critical for maintaining read.

  • The custom box model creates an infinite number of custom box designs that must be tracked internally as part numbers and items being sold.

  • Your accounting system needs to track estimates, completed orders, and inventory in a way that allows you to close out a P&L each month.

The Packsize solution offers unique and valuable benefits to customers in many different markets. Learning how to design and present those benefits requires a unique sales approach.

  • A great place to start with most potential customers is to ask about their biggest pain points.

  •  Target markets include manufacturing, particularly companies that manage and ship big & bulky items, and fulfillment, where companies are shipping a lot of different items through UPS/ Fedex.

  • Getting creative with non-traditional box designs is an enormous source of value.  Most customers aren’t aware of the ways that pads, crease sheets, and OPFs can be used to lower their costs and improve their operations.

Atlas is the online engine that makes the business model possible; the common language linking customers, the Sales and Operations teams, and the Packsize equipment.

  • Each customer has a unique portal where they choose from dozens of different box designs, create the boxes they need, store those designs for future use, and process orders.

  • Sales team members use the software to support local and regional customers. They first seek to understand what the customer needs from their packaging, then they identify different designs that can accomplish those goals.

  • Atlas can be integrated with a company web portal. We have a simple model that  send orders to customer service and operations using Google Sheets. We can also integrate Atlas into an ERP system for greater efficiency.

Productivity, safety, and worker comfort should be the focus when laying out the manufacturing and storage areas.

  • Operators and machines work in harmony to hit production targets when the physical layout is optimized down to the square foot.

  • The manufacturing area should optimize environmental and ergonomic issues including lighting, temperature, physical layout, and proximity to break rooms and supervision areas.

  • Physical facility issues include electrical and air supplies, fanfold bale storage,  workflow, and scrap management.
